Richard James Weeks

Richard James Weeks was born in 1884, the son of John George Weeks and was an agent and then later a director of Bedlington Coal Co. Ltd from 1921 to 1947. He mainly worked at Bedlington Colliery during this time, but also at Barrington, Bomarsund and West Sleekburn collieries.

In 1940 Weeks became a director for Seghill Colliery Ltd. and Wallsend & Hebburn Coal Co. Ltd. In 1947 he also became a Director for Hartley Main Collieries.

Weeks was the President of the North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers between 1939 and 1940. He had been a member since 1919.

He died in 1945.
