Grand Allies Agreement
Agreement between 1. Hon Sydney Wertley of Wortley and Edward his son and Thomas Ord of Newcastle, 2. Sir Henry Liddell, age 18, of Ravensworth and George Liddell, 3. George Bowes of Gibside and 4. William Cotesworth of Gateshead Park to form a partnership for the mutual management of certain of their collieries and the purchase of additional collieries, including agreement re wayleaves and staiths and collieries excluded from the agreement, 27 June 1726.
