From 1852 onwards, the Institute published Transactions, initially under the Institute’s original name of North of England Institute of Mining Engineers, which gave the text of their lectures and discussions as well as detail about the Institute, the membership and annual reports. From 1889 onwards, this text was also included in the new Federated Institution of Mining Engineers Transactions.
Volunteers at the Mining Institute have scanned, used OCR and proof read these volumes in order to make them available here online.
The PDF documents do not contain the images, diagrams and large tables, but these pages can be provided as image files on request, as can text pages.
An index will be made available, but in the meantime the General and Subject Matter Indices, Vols. 1 to 38, 1852 to 1889 can be seen at the Internet Archive, as can some individual volumes.
