We have a group of members keen to play golf throughout the year. If you’re interested in joining them please email office@mininginstitute.org.uk stating an interest in joining in with the group.
The highlight of each year for the golfing group is the Institutes’ annual golf tournament: The Major Thornton – Norman Watsons (Engineers) Golf Competition.
The event typically takes place in May each year. This year’s competition will be held at a Longhirst Hall Golf Club, Northumberland on Friday 19th May 2023 at 11am. Deadline for entries is Friday the 15th of May. To enter the competition please fill out and return the application form.
The cost is £30.00 per person. The cost includes tea, coffee and a bacon sandwich on arrival, 18 holes of golf and a one-course meal. Please book early to accommodate any changes.
